When Dave Carlaw turned 50 most of his friends were looking forward to closing out their careers and entering their golden years of retirement. Dave took another path. A career human resources executive, he decided it was time to fulfill a lifelong dream to become a stand-up comedian.

In his early years of comedy, he paid his dues by performing at coffee houses and bars. He also did open mic nights at establishments usually frequented by poetry readers and folk singers. In those days, an audience of four or more  was a crowd.

Over the last 15 year, Dave has performed in the Main Room and Belly Room at the Hollywood Comedy Store, The Laff Stop and hundreds of other venues. He performed at the Santa Monica Improv for an appearance in a personal development video and has been a guest on “Food Rules” - Orange County’s hottest and funniest TV Cooking Show.

In addition to his standup comedy in clubs, Dave performs at professional gatherings and private celebrations including birthdays, retirements and anniversaries.
